Trades?

December 23, 2009 5:16 pm

Any trades brewing in Sens land?  Spezza to TO? Kovalev back to Montreal? Fisher to Nashville?

The Sens could use a decent scorer.  The vultures are circling the carcass that is Philly.  Is their any way that the Sens brass could pick up Gagne or Briere?

Sens Looking Good

October 21, 2009 11:12 am

The Sens have started the season looking pretty good.Goalie,Pascal Lecalaire has played exteremly well. The defense looks very good.Phillips and Volchenkov are back to their shut down style, while Carkner really shown some grit.Picard has picked up his game and is contributing offensively. The forwards are coming around.Alfredsson has been great and Michalek and Kovalev seem to be finding their scoring touch.Looks like this coild be a great year.

WHY CAN'T THE SENS SCORE?

October 13, 2009 12:30 pm

The Sens have played 5 games and have 12 goals. Is this a replay of last year? With the forwards we have we should be getting more production.Spezza,Kovalev,Alfredsson,Michalek,Foligno, all seem to have lost their touch. You can't blame Leclaire,he is holding the team in games but he needs some help.Last night the lines were changed up but it didn't seem to help as only Michalek scored. What do you think we should do?

What do you expect from the Sens this season?

September 19, 2009 12:54 pm

With the addition of a decent goalie in Pascal Leclaire, and the additions of Michalek and Kovalev,we should at least have 6 top line forwards.I will reserve judgement on Cheecoo until I see how he plays, but if he plays with Spezza and Alfreddsson he could have a bounce back year. The defence should be better, Phillips and Volchenkov should rebound from last years off season and Campoli could be good on the point. There is a lot of talent on this team .Do you think we have enough of it to make the playoffs?

Dany Heatley vs. Ray Emery

June 29, 2009 5:42 pm

It is hard to imagine anyone being a bigger distraction and cancer in the Senators dressing room than Ray Emery, but Heatley may be the guy to to take that title away from him. I want to make sure that I've got this straight - Heatley signs contract, Sens struggle, Clouston asks for "more" from Heatley, Sens miss playoffs, Heatley demands trade? I guess Dany doesn't handle adversity well (at least he didn't punch anyone out - though I think that would be asking far too much from "Heater"). Heatley's trade demand is/was totally classless! I'm a huge Sens fan and will not disagree with anyone that says this guy was a huge part of the Sens success in previous years, nor will I argue that he was one of the best players night-in night-out last year - but seriously?! How does anyone in their right mind figure leaking a trade demand like this, after signing a huge contract, is going to turn out well? The rest of the group may want to wish Heatley well, I for one say go to #### (rhymes with "well" and starts with an "h")! My advice to Murray is pay the $4million and then trade him as fast as possible! Heatley needs to be a distant memory when training camp starts if the team is to have any chance of avoiding any of the distractions a scenario like this is sure to present.
